The Milestone Gets Multitouch, Will The Droid?
Topic: Mobile Phones
Lucky Germans. While we in the US have to look to the HTC Hero or the upcoming Eris for our multitouch Android joy, it looks like German Android fans will get it from the Milestone. The Milestone is just a GSM version of the Motorola Droid. Until today, both phones were thought to be otherwise identical. Now, if this video from Mobile-Review (via Gizmodo) is accurate, it looks like there will be one more difference between the two phones.
Android 2.0 supports multitouch, but for whatever reason the Droid does not. If multitouch will be appearing in the Milestone, there's at least a chance we'll see it patched into the Droid soon after. If that happened, it would give people yet another reason to fall in love with Moto's flagship handset.

Xbox 360 Sky Player Has A Failed Start

On Tuesday Microsoft and Sky launched the Sky Player on the Xbox 360 in the UK. The service stopped working pretty much right after launch due to overwhelming demand says Microsoft.
I cannot verify if the Sky Player service is now working fine on the Xbox 360. The last update from yesterday on the Xbox site says that Microsoft has implemented a revised rollout to access Sky Player on Xbox 360, to ensure that consumers experience both a smooth sign-up process and high-quality experience.

Motorola Droid: Out November 6th, $199
Topic: Mobile Phones
The press release is out and the Droid is official. Moto and Verizon have today announced the imminent launch of the smartphone everybody's talking about. The Droid will be hitting stores on November 6th, and will cost $199 with a 2 year contract. Both Verizon and Motorola have a lot riding on this launch. The carrier needs something to lift their flagging sales and give them some muscle against AT&T, while Moto has pinned all of its hopes for the future on the Android OS.
In case you've forgotten, the Droid packs a 3.7” touchscreen, a 5 MP camera with dual LED flash, and turn-by-turn voice guidance along with an internal GPS. The Droid has 16 GB of internal memory and is driven by a 600 MHz processor. There's no denying that Moto's big gambit makes for one hell of a smartphone. The question is; will it sell?
