iPhone Turns into Portable Hard Drive with DataCase

A new application has hit the iTunes App Store called DataCase. The application allows your iPhone or iPod Touch to be turned into a wireless drive and features a file viewer that allows you to store data like photos and documents on your iPod or the iPhone.
The application is designed to work with Mac or PC and connects automatically, allowing you to drag-and-drop files to and from the iPhone. You also get the ability to upload via FTP while connected to the network. Read more

Audi Unveils Range of Updated A6 Vehicles

The Audi's get an updated exterior, an upgraded cabin, and several new engines. The updated vehicles are set to go on sale in the UK this autumn. According to Auto Express, the updated saloon will be revealed at the Moscow motor show later in the month.
The new look is described as sleeker with new bumpers and revised grill along with modified air intakes. The suspension also gets modified to increase grip and agility, and the biggest change comes in the lineup of engines available. One new engine is available as a 3.0L supercharged V-6 that runs on petrol and produces 285 hp. That's enough power to propel the car from 0 to 62 mph in 5.9 seconds, while still providing 29.7 miles per gallon. Read more

Xbox 360 60GB Launches on Friday

Microsoft will be launching the 60GB Xbox 360 premium in Europe Friday. The 60GB unit will cost GBP 199.99, the same price as the 20GB Xbox it is replacing. The price of the 20GB console is expected to drop and stay at those levels until the supply runs out.
The amount of the price drop is unknown, in the US the 20GB version dropped to the equivalent of GBP 151. The 60GB bundle will include an HDMI port, wireless controller and wired handset. Read more

iPhone App Store is a Huge Success

After the huge popularity of the original iPhone, everyone expected the iPhone 3G to be successful as well -- and it was. High expectations were also placed on the iPhone App store that was perhaps even more anticipated than the iPhone 3G.
The App store has proven to be huge for Apple. Steve Jobs has announced that 60 million applications have been downloaded from the App Store since its launch. The apps downloaded include a mix of paid and free with the paid apps ringing up a massive $30 million in sales. Read more

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Available in UK

Nuance announced today that its latest voice recognition software is now available in the UK. Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 allows users to write documents and emails, search the web, and control their PC by voice.
Nuance says that the average person types 35 words per minute with only 58% accuracy. Dragon can provide near-perfect accuracy and speeds up to 160 words per minute. Nuance also says that Dragons accuracy improves over time by up to 20%. Dragon is also offering an edition that features a Bluetooth headset for wireless voice recognition. Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Standard retails for £79.99, the Preferred edition retails for £149.99 and the Professional version is £645.08. Read more

I don’t know what the weather in your neck of the woods is like, but here in Texas it's hot (hot, hot, hot) so the odds of me being outside are slim. Once it starts to cool off though I like to go outside and work occasionally.
The catch is that my laptop doesn't stay charged long. The SunTable looks like a table, but it is covered with solar panels to gather juice for your gadgets. The frame is made of teak wood and the table claims it can recharge a laptop in four hours. Read more

Aston Martin One-77 Unveiled

Aston Martin has announced that it is building an all-new sports car it considers super-exclusive -- meaning way expensive. The car is called the One-77 and is slated for a late 2009 entry into the market at a price of £1.2 million.
For that price, Aston Martin says owners will be able to get involved in the design process and development to get the car tailored to their requirements. Aston Martin says that each example will be entirely individual. Read more

Fable 2 Gets Launch Date

Fable 2 on the Xbox 360 has been given an official release date in the UK of October 24th. The game was developed by Lionhead and is an adventure game that allows gamers to raise families and start conflicts.
The game is said to have cooperative online play and the ability to drop-in and out of cooperative play without losing the entire game. Read more

Freesat Gets More HD Channels

Freesat has announced that it has new channels that will be added to the free service. One of the new channels that will be added will be Black Entertainment Television (BET UK). The service is also adding five additional channels.
The five other channels are Zone Horror + 1, Information TV, Kix!, Celebrity Shop, and Simply Shopping. All of the new channels will launch on the same day. Read more

EA's Bad Company Gets Conquest Mode

EA's latest installment in the Battlefield franchise -- Bad Company -- got a new mode this week in a free update. The mode added is Conquest, which has been a fan favorite since Battlefield: 1942. The conquest mode is based on punching an opponent's tickets by holding strategic points and eliminating opponents.
The new mode doesn’t add any new maps, but can be played on all existing maps. The game is a break from the more multi-player oriented prior installments with a more robust single player game. Read more

Lotus Technology Makes Hybrid Cars Noisy

Drivers that are into the green movement and those who want to save on gas are embracing the hybrid vehicle. The problem with hybrids is that they make very little noise when running on electric power.
The lack of sound can make it hard for pedestrians to know that the car is there, especially the visually impaired. To remedy this situation Lotus has announced new technology that uses a speaker and amplifier system to simulate engine noise so pedestrians know the virtually silent vehicles are there. Read more
