Sky Launches New Subscription TV Service

Sabotaging Richard Branson’s new Virgin Media launch, Sky declared its plans to launch a subscription television service on digital terrestrial television (DTT) this summer, challenging Freeview.
Launching this summer, customers will pay a monthly subscription for some of Sky’s most popular progammes, including movies and sports through a traditional rooftop aerial and set-top box. Expect to get more details closer to the launch date.
This new service means that Freeview customers can say bye-bye to Sky Three, Sky News and Sky Sports News.
