Sony Ericsson confirms Android-powered Xperia X10

After a bunch of leaked images and lots of teasing Sony Ericsson has finally come out and confirmed the Xperia X10 will be coming in early 2010. The handset will run the Android operating system and should have the power to compete with high-end smartphones.

The device will use the Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor. Strangely, the device is pegged to ship with Android 1.6, not the 2.0 version already available. The device promises best in class entertainment features and more features will be added over time.

The handset also features an 8.1MP camera with 18x digital zoom, WiFi and HSDPA 3G connectivity. The device measures 119x63x 13mm and can play 3D games and features GPS. More details on the global I4U News.
