Today marks the official launch of the Zune HD. The pre-order period is now over and you can buy the 16GB and 32GB versions of the machine now in the US. Those in the UK who want the new Zune will have to import one since the device isn’t in Europe yet.

Some early indications are that Microsoft may not offer the Zune HD outside of America. I would bet that the company will want to offer the device to as wide an audience as possible.

The unveiling of the Zune HD officially means that the other Zune players will be retired. This will leave the HD as the only Zune model for customers to buy.
