An Apple tablet computer or netbook has been rumored for so long that I can’t really recall when the rumor started. Apple is the sole large PC maker that has yet to offer up a netbook, but that may soon change.

The latest rumor has the computer maker getting ready to launch its tablet machine in September. Previously the rumored launch date was 2010. It would make sense for Apple to get the tablet on the market before Christmas.

Details on what exactly the rumored tablet will be like are unknown. I would expect something akin to a larger iPhone with a big screen and more power at around $700.
