Microsoft Says Netbooks Don’t Exist

At Computex 2009, Microsoft's Steven Guggenheimer said that netbooks don’t exist. Umm… Steve it's not like they are Santa or something. I have a few of them sitting on my desk right now.

Microsoft wants to call them "low cost small notebook PC." That one really rolls off the tongue doesn't it? The theory is that the netbook can do more than surf the net so it needs a grander name I guess.

I have a new name for Guggenheimer -- Tool. Yeah I said it. This has to be one of the dumbest calls to action. Psion tried to get people to stop calling netbooks, netbooks and eventually gave that up.
