Rare Bugatti Found in Barn Sells for $4.4M

A rare 1937 Bugatti Type 57S Atlante Coupe was discovered in a UK garage and sold recently at auction for $4.4 million USD. The car was the star attraction at a rare auto auction in Paris. Only 17 copies of the rare vehicle were built.

The car was originally owned by Earl Howe, president of the British Racing Drivers Club and later sold passing through the hands of various owners until it was purchased by Dr. Harold Carr in 1955 and then parked in the garage in the early 1960's where it sat until Carr's death.

The car was found still sitting in the garage where Carr parked having not been run in nearly 50 years. Despite the need for a registration, the vehicle was bid to the $4.4 million figure.
