An unknown handset called the Zumba phone could do for speech recognition what the iPhone did for touch control. The handset claims to use the world's most accurate voice recognition system.
Reports indicate that the Zumba handset could be ready by the end of the year. The innovative part of the handset is a circular pad placed over the ear that has a dial pad and screen. Removing the earpiece and pad form the handset activates an Internet connection.
After the connection is activated, you say the name of a contact you want to call or text and the handset calls or sends the text you want. Text messages received can also be read to you. The handset has been in development for three years.
