Another day, another iPhone competitor comes to market, this time from venerable Nokia. The device is called the N97 and offers a full QWERTY keyboard that slides out and places the display at an angle for comfortable viewing.
The device sports a 3.5-inch touchscreen with a 16:9 aspect ratio and is haptic-enabled. The resolution of the screen is 640x360 and apparently, the N97 doesn’t support multitouch gesture use like pinching.
The handset weighs a bit more than the iPhone at 150g and is thicker than the iPhone. Weight aside the N97 packs in interesting features including a 5MP camera with dual LED flash, 32GB of onboard memory, microSD card slot and a battery good for 499 hours of standby and 270 minutes of video playback. The handset will retail for 550 euros before taxes and will go on sale in the first half of 2009.
