If you own an iPhone 3G and have found that the 3G reception is not all that great, even in 3G service areas, rumors claim Apple thinks it may have a fix. Reports are coming in that a fix is in the works and could be ready as early as this month.
The fix is supposed to remedy the lackluster 3G reception many iPhone 3G users have complained about. Problems with reception had been blamed on the Infineon chip inside the iPhone 3G. Infineon was quick to point out that the same 3G chip was used inside Samsung handsets where no one complained about reception problems.
The good news here appears to be that Apple seems to be able to fix this with an update, rather than having to issue a recall or simply telling customers sorry. IPhone 3G users will just have to wait for the update to see if it is effective.
