The last time I was driving in my car, I can't say I thought what I really needed was a microwave. I guess I could see the need for a microwave in something like a camper, or large van on long trips, but for the most part it seems kind of weird.
A company called Maplin has announced a compact and portable indoor microwave that promises high-speed cooking times while inside your car. The maker claims the microwave can cook a slice of pizza in two minutes or reheat a cup of coffee in three minutes.
The microwave offers up to 660 Watts of power if connected directly to a car battery, or 175 W of power connected via cigarette lighter socket. If you pre-order the microwave now it will cost you £89.98, and in September, the price will be £129.99.
