After the huge popularity of the original iPhone, everyone expected the iPhone 3G to be successful as well -- and it was. High expectations were also placed on the iPhone App store that was perhaps even more anticipated than the iPhone 3G.

The App store has proven to be huge for Apple. Steve Jobs has announced that 60 million applications have been downloaded from the App Store since its launch. The apps downloaded include a mix of paid and free with the paid apps ringing up a massive $30 million in sales.
