When it comes time to buy a second charger for your electronic devices or replace a lost charger many simply look for the cheapest ones and buy them. The catch is that cheap chargers often hit their cheap price point by cutting corners and downright lies.

Trading Standards has issued a warning on a specific charger for the Nintendo DS that are marked with the item number DE62347066. Many cheap chargers on the market skip the CE certification process, which certifies that they won’t overheat or short leading to possible fire or electrocution.

Trading Standards warns that some cut rate devices are even using a forged CE logo to trick consumers into buying the products thinking they the item has undergone a certification process. Apparently the issue is much larger than the Nintendo DS charger in the UK with many suspect devices on the market for different devices.
