O2 Site Killed Under Demand of iPhone 3G Pre-orders

If you were wondering if the iPhone 3G would have the same demand as the original iPhone had from consumers, it seems it will match or even exceed the demand of the original device. According to Time Online, the demand has been so high that the O2 website has succumbed to the traffic generated by iPhone 3G fans.
The iPhone 3G went on sale for pre-orders today at 8am and according to Times Online 200,000 people had already registered interest in the phone. O2 is the only place to get the iPhone in the UK and O2 will not comment on how many of the phones will be available.
"Unfortunately we have had a few problems this morning - there was an unprecedented demand at 8am when the pre-ordering went live, but the site is working again now," an O2 spokesman said at lunchtime.
