A glitch on the O2 website last night may have revealed details of the pay as you go plan for the new iPhone 3G. According to Shiny Shiny the site for the service was live for a little bit and shows that the 8GB and 16GB iPhone 3G would be offered.
The 8GB phone would sell for £299 and a 16GB version would go for £359. Those prices really aren’t bad for someone looking to get the new iPhone without agreeing to a contract. Exactly what cost the O2 PAYG plans would require for the phone weren’t shown.
In the US some iPhone users who were unable to pass the credit check were able to use the original iPhone on pay as you go service. The devices at O2 are said to include unlimited data and free access to some hotspots.
