LaCie has been making external hard drives for a long time now that tend to favor the industrial looks of Mac computers. They will work with Windows machines as well. The latest from LaCie is the Little Big Disk Quadra.
The drive is small at about the size of a brick, but it packs in a full 1TB of storage. Connectivity options include Firewire, eSATA, and USB 2.0. the drive will retail for £440 including a 3-year warranty and EMC Retrospect backup software.
The drive uses a pair of 500GB drives each that come configured in RAID0 with an 8MB cache. The drive can be reconfigured into a RAID1 array as well if desired. Power is needed when connecting via eSATA or USB; Firewire users need no power adapter.
