Sony has released a new mobile phone that is more like a quality entry level digital camera than your average phone. The camera in the phone is an 8.1MP unit with a Zenon flash and some other features you normally don’t think of when you look at camera phones.
The C905 also has image stabilization, red-eye reduction and face detection. Other interesting features include a 2.4-inch LCD, geo-tagging for images, HSDPA connectivity and Wi-Fi support. The camera also ships with a 2GB M2 memory stick
The device will be available in Britain in Q4 2008 at an undisclosed price. When phone makers start fitting the devices with a quality zoom lens we will really be able to ditch the digital camera for most shots.
