Starting on July 11 O2 will offer new customers the iPhone 3G for free. That’s right a new iPhone for free so long as you subscribe for 18 months to plans costing at least £45pm and £75pm for the 8GB iPhone 3G.
If you want the 16GB iPhone 3G you’ll need to sign for the £75pm 18 month contract. That’s a stark contract to AT&T in the US stating that the $199 is the subsidized price. If O2 is any indication, that little comment is a load of bull.
AT&T is it seems simply out to get more cash from American’s and not only will we have to pay full price, but we get stuck with a 2-year contract after paying full price.
