Spy shots and information about the upcoming entry level Rolls-Royce known internally as the RR4 have been going around the web for a long time. Today Rolls announced that it will be upgrading its manufacturing plant and hiring more employees in preparation for the RR4.
The car is due for release in 2010 and is reported to be going for around £200,000. The car is rumored to share some common components with the BMW 7 series and will be a rear wheel drive car with several engines rumored to be available including a possible diesel. Rolls says this car will place a greater emphasis on driving than other Rolls vehicles.
“RR4 will mark a milestone in the history of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars,” Chairman, Ian Robertson said. “The business continues to go from strength to strength and the introduction of this new model will expand the appeal of the brand. We look forward to this next chapter with anticipation and confidence.”
