O2 Offers Total Connectivity For iPhone Customers

O2 announced the iPhone Total Connectivity Bolt On today, which allows new and existing iPhone customers to purchase the iPhone Internet Tethering bolt-on and receive the standard O2 Home Broadband package completely free.
Pay Monthly iPhone customers who purchase the discounted £9.79 per month 3GB Internet Tethering Bolt On before December 31, 2009 will be entitled to the O2 Home Broadband standard package for free. The service means users can stay totally connected and get the best connection possible, whether at home or out and about on their phone or laptop.

Apple iTunes App Store Already Reached 100,000 Apps?

At the end of September Apple announced that the App Store had 85,000 Apps. According to the counter on the iPhone App tracking site App Shopper, via V3.co.uk, the App store has already surpassed the 100,000 App milestone.
If App Shopper counts the same as Apple than a new announcement from Apple about the crazy growth of the App store will come soon.

Will Apple be Able to Meet Demand when iPhone Hits other UK Carriers?

O2 has reportedly sold out of iPhone 3G S models with messages on its website that warn users that it is out of both the 16GB and the 32GB models of the phone. O2 has said that it continues to see extremely high demand for the handset.
The fact that O2 is unable to keep the iPhone in stock has raised questions about whether or not Apple will be able to keep the UK supplied with enough iPhones when the handset hits Orange and Vodafone later this year. Read more

Vodafone Sells Apple iPhone Starting 2010 In UK

The exclusivity of O2 for the iPhone ends in the UK in 2010. Besides Orange, Vodafone will also sell the Apple iPhone starting in 2010.
Beginning today, Vodafone UK and Vodafone Ireland customers can register their interest in iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS at the Vodafone site.

Apple App Store Downloads Top 2 Billion

Apple today announced that more than two billion apps have been downloaded from its App Store, which is according to Apple the largest applications store in the world. There are now more than 85,000 apps available to the more than 50 million iPhone and iPod touch customers worldwide and over 125,000 developers in Apples iPhone Developer Program.
Apple just reached the 1 billion download milestone in April. So in just 5 month Apple was able to double the number of iPhone App downloads - pretty cool.

TomTom iPhone 3GS Car Kit Appears in Apple Store

The TomTom iPhone navigation software has been available on iTunes since last month. Now the TomTom Car Kit for the iPhone 3GS is listed on the UK Apple Store for £99.95. The car kit appears on the homepage, but currently the link to the product page does not work.
The TomTom Car Kit has an external GPS receiver integrated that is supposed to be better than the one found in iPhone 3GS.

Beatles Remastered not coming to iTunes

Yesterday was certainly The Beatles day with the launch of The Beatles: Rock Band and the new digitally remastered Beatles works. If you were hoping to grab the new Beatles tracks in iTunes, it seems you are out of luck.
According to EMI, the publisher of the remastered works, the new music will not be released as digital tracks. So far, none of The Beatles music has been released digitally. Read more

Jobs Says no eBooks for Apple

Black clad Steve Jobs is an icon at Apple and is responsible for a great deal of the computer maker's success. Apple, as many companies are apt to do, tends to deny it is interested in a product category and claim it won't enter the market until a few minutes before they actually announces the product.
The NYT's gadget geek David Pogue got some one on one time with Jobs and asked him about entering into the eReader market. Jobs said he doesn't think there is a market for a dedicated reader. Read more

Apple Confirms September 9th iPod Event

Apple has been sending out official press invites to its September 9th iPod event. If you have seen all the leaked shots of the iPod cases with camera holes, you probably have a good idea of what will be shown at the event.
Scuttlebutt says that there will be a new lower price iPod touch and a new 64GB model for the high-end. The new ipods are expected to get the new camera with video recording capability from the new iPhone and the same processor from the iPhone. Read more

Apple Points Finger at Users in Rash of Explosions

The rash of explosions of iPhones and iPod in Europe has drawn the attention of governments and the media as well as Apple. Apple is now point the finger directly at the users of the devices.
The Inq reports Apple says that it has seen no evidence that its hardware or batteries had anything to do with the explosions of the devices. Apple says that the explosions were caused by external force. Read more

Apple is Working On 13 and 15 inch iTablets?

We've been hearing rumors about the 10 iTablet for weeks now. Today Gizmodo adds 13 and 15 versions to the mix. They've received word from a source that they say has always been 100% reliable that Apple has 13 and 15 prototype tablets under development. The gadgets were spotted in a factory in Shenzuen, China.
When asked, the source did not know if they were demonstration units, test units, or preproduction units. He described them as being made of aluminium and shaped like giant iPhones. He stated that one of them ran Mac OS X 10.5. While all of the initial iTablet rumors stated that the iPhone OS would power the iTablet, this isn't the first time we've heard dissent to that fact. If these things are supposed to have netbook levels of functionality or better, OS X makes much more sense.
