Microsoft Unglues Cut and Paste for Windows Phone 7

For a long time one of the most missed features on the iPhone was cut and paste capability. Something so basic was a strange feature to not have. We are now hearing that Microsoft has decided to not feature cut and paste.
Therefore, WiPo 7 devices will not be able to cut and paste between apps. The reason is Microsoft feels that users don’t want it. Did they learn nothing form the outcry from iPhone users for the feature? Read more

HTC Legend, Desire, and Nexus One Heading to Vodafone

HTC is tossing several of its new smartphones onto the Vodafone network in the UK soon. The devices will include the Desire, Legend, and the Google Nexus One. We don't have an exact date the devices will surface on the network.
All we know is that the handsets will hit Vodafone "in the near future," equating to sometime next month. The Desire is a 3.7-inch AMOLED device with a 5MP camera and a 1 GHz CPU running Android 2.1. The Legend is at its core an updated Hero with a 3.2-inch AMOLED screen, Android 2.1, and a 600 MHz CPU. Read more

UK Mobile Providers Expected to Fight for iPad Deal

The iPad wireless deal for 3G service in the US was a given for AT&T and the wireless provider and Apple worked out a impressive new deal for iPad buyers with no contracts and a decent price for service. The battle to determine who will provide connectivity for the device in the UK is set to start.
Apple execs are said to be coming to the UK to meet with reps form orange, O2, and Vodafone to determine which company will provide wireless connectivity for the device in the UK. Rumors still point to all three companies offering the iPad. Read more

Vodafone Cuts Staff in UK

The economy may be looking better around the world, but it's not all back yet. Vodafone has announced that it will be shedding an additional 375 workers by the end of March.
The cuts are part of a plan that will reportedly save Vodafone £1bn by next year. At the same time the 375 people are being shed, Vodafone says it will be looking for an additional 170 workers that will interact directly with customers. Presumably, that means sales agents. Read more

O2 Plans Support iPhone 4G Video Calling Rumor

A new week brings more iPhone 4G rumors. The latest rumor points to some new O2 simplicity SIM-only plans that are said to confirm video calling on the iPhone 4G.
The new tariffs point out that the plans come with video calls at the same price as voice calls in the UK. The plans in question can be had on the iPhone or Blackberry devices. Read more

I need to know, T-Mo. What was wrong with the word 'neuron'? Was it too long? Do you just hate spelling things the right way? Or was 'neuron' not 'hip' and 'with it' enough for all the teeny-boppers you're trying to court?
Whatever the reason, the Nuron is coming to T-Mobile pretty damn soon. BGR reports that Nokia and T-Mobile have both officially acknowledged the Nuron. This candybar phone will cost $69.99. It has a 3.2” touchscreen display, GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, and WCDMA 1700/2100. It has a 2 MP camera with 3X digital zoom and recording, Bluetooth 2.0, aGPS and Ovi maps, the Ovi Store, and a microSD slot (16 GB).

O2 Offers New iPhone Rate Plans

If you have wanted an iPhone a hoping that the price would come down a bit before you bought one, this may be what you have been waiting for. O2 has announced new tariffs for the iPhone with the cheapest being £25 a month with a 2-year contract.
The plan will get the user unlimited texts and 100 minutes of talk. There is also talk of the iPhone coming to the O2 Simplicity SIM plan. The catch here is that the phone will be full price, and they aren’t cheap. Read more

Windows Mobile 6.5 Gets No Windows Phone 7 Upgrade

If you have a smartphone running Windows Mobile 6.5, you might be hoping that your handset can be updated to Windows Phone 7. The bad news is that will not be happening. Apparently is has to do with the fact that the handsets lack the three buttons WinPo 7 needs.
WinMo 6.5 isn’t going the way of the dodo just yet though. Microsoft is rebranding the OS as Windows Phone Classic Edition. The Os will come in 3G versions and in versions lacking 3G for developing countries. Read more

Google Nexus One Smartphone Coming to UK in April

UK fans of the Google Nexus One that has been available in the US for a while now will be glad to hear that the smartphone is coming to the UK in April. The smartphone will be landing at Vodafone first.
The handset will run Android 2.1 and will sell for £339 directly from Google with an additional £83 for delivery and VAT. You can also get a SIM free version from Play.com for £599. The handset runs a 1GHz Snapdragon. Read more

Sony Ericsson Vivaz Coming to Vodafone

Vodafone has announced that it will be getting the new Sony Ericsson Vivaz handset next month. Starting on March 9 the mobile phone will be on the network for free if shoppers opt for the 2-year contract at £30 monthly.
That plan provides 600 minutes of talk and those needing more talk can get 900 minutes for another £5 per month. The handset has an 8.1MP camera, video recording, and other multimedia features. Read more

HTC Desire Up for Pre-Order in UK

One of the HTC handsets that was spied at MWC is the HTC Desire. The handset is the twin to the Nexus One from Google with the added benefit of the Sense UI.
The phone will hit on April 1 on all carriers. The handset is now up for pre-order and can be had at T-Mobile with a new 2-year contract and 900 minutes of talk per month, 500 texts, and unlimited data for £40 per month. Read more
