Caterham has announced a new R500 sports car and while it’s debatable how attractive the bug-eyed vehicle is, there is no denying its performance credentials. The R500 is powered by a Ford 2.0 litre Duratec engine producing 263 hp.
That may not sound like a lot of power, but when you consider that the R500 weighs only 506kg that 263 hp makes for serious performance. Caterham says the R500 will hit 62 mph in under three seconds and has a top speed of 150MPH. Read more

Hydrogen Powered Lifecar to be Unveiled at Geneva
Topic: Cars & Vehicles
The Lifecar is certainly an attractive vehicle with a design reminiscent of the Morgan Aero-8. BBC News calls the Lifecar a zero-emission sports car. I can see the zero emissions bit since the car is powered by hydrogen.
However, with a top speed of only around 90 mph can you really consider the car a sports car? I mean I had a VW Rabbit pickup when I was 16 that could do 100MPH and it hardly qualified as a sports car. Maybe it’s just me but to qualify as a sports car you need more than a sexy design. Read more
