PeeWee Tablet PC for Kids Launches Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Kids in the US can get their hands on a new tablet computer that is basically a netbook aimed at kids from 3 to 10 years old. The PeeWee weighs 3 pounds and is ruggedized to survive drops and spills.

The machine uses an Intel Atom processor, features a rotating screen with a stylus, and a Walt Disney Windows XP Home Theme. The tablet also features a 1.3MP webcam. Read more

HP Announces DV3 Notebook Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review HP has announced the launch of a new notebook called the DV3. The machine has a 13.3-inch screen that is backlit by LEDs and offers graphics via NVIDIA G105M GPU. The machine is slightly larger than the DV2 that was announced not so long ago.

Other features of the machine include and Intel processor, presumably the Core 2 Duo processor, DVD or Blu-ray drive, memory card reader and more. Read more

Packard Bell Launches New Netbooks Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Packard Bell has revamped its dot netbook line with a couple of new models including the Dot S and Dot M machines. The Dot S is a 10.1-inch netbook and the Dot M is a larger 11.6-inch machine.

The Dot S has a 1.33GHz Atom Z520 CPU and the Dot M has a 1.6GHz M270. Other hardware is the same with 1GB of RAM and a 160GB HDD along with optional 3G, Dolby sound, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. Read more

Nokia Laptop May be Getting Closer Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Rumors have been going around for a while now that had Nokia looking to enter into the laptop business with its own netbook. Reports are now coming in that claim a Taiwanese PC maker is in talks with Nokia to possibly build the notebook.

The builder is named as Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS). Nokia's CEO said back in February that the company was actively looking into entering the notebook business. Read more

The organization has slammed Dell, HP, and Lenovo for going back on a promise that they would be using less toxic chemicals in their computers.

The computer makers had told Greenpeace that they would eliminate PVC and BFRs from their products by the end of last year. All three firms said that they don't expect to hit those goals. Read more

The study was conducted by a firm called 1E and found that nearly a third of UK employees leave their computers on all the time.

Each of the computers left running overnight rack up about £17 in electrical costs each year. However, data suggests that as much as 70% of workers leave their PCs on. Read more
