Carrier 3 offers in the UK a hot new deal with the HTC Hero Android phone.
According to the Telegraph for a £35-per-month, two-year contract, you get free premium subscription to the Spotify music service.
The offer will be available starting November, and you have to pay £99 for the HTC Hero.

Wolfram Alpha Launches iPhone App for £30

The most popular apps for the iPhone tend to have something in common, they are free. Most people prefer the free apps but will spend a small amount of money to buy apps that work well and are fun to use.
Wolfram Alpha has unveiled a new app selling for £29.99 that looks like a search engine at first glance, but is actually a database of information and computational services. You can ask the app questions like how's the weather and it will give you statistical information. Read more

Sony Ericsson Naite Launched By O2

O2 today announces the launch of the Sony Ericsson Naite.
Naite, which will be brought first to market by O2, is the first of the manufacturer’s GreenHeart range and sees its overall carbon footprint reduced by 15%.
Made from recycled and recyclable plastics the Naite also comes with a low power consumption charger, reduced packaging and an e-manual which together see CO2 emissions from transport reduced significantly. Additionally, the e-manual on the phone reduces paper usage by 90 percent.

Windows Marketplace Live Already on Windows Mobile 6.5

Palm Activates iTunes Sync for Pre Again

When the Palm Pre first launched one of the big features of the device that was touted in the media was the ability to sync the Pre with iTunes. It didn't take long for Apple to kill off the Pre sync capability with an update to iTunes.
Palm has announced that it has now enabled iTunes sync again and that music and images can now be synced with the popular Apple service. It goes without saying that Apple will be releasing a patch soon that will again break the sync function of the device. Read more

O2 Trials LTE Mobile Broadband

O2 has reportedly begun trialing its new LTE service that will bring much faster mobile broadband speeds to users. The company plans a mass rollout of LTE starting in 2010.
LTW will bring speeds of up to 140Mbps in the first release with a significantly increased speed of 340Mbps expected to be rolled out in 2011. The speeds are significantly faster than what is available now. Read more

HTC Leo Hits O2 as HTC HD2

The HTC Leo has been popping up all over the place and the device has now reportedly hit O2 as the HTC HD2. The device will run Windows /mobile and will sport a 4.3-inch screen, the largest on any mobile phone.
The big screen is touch capable and uses capacitive technology. Windows Mobile 6.5 is the exact flavor of OS the device runs. The CPU inside the handset is the 1GHz Snapdragon from Qualcomm. Read more

Palm Launches WebOS 1.2 Update

Palm has announced that the latest webOS update for the Pre is now available. The new update takes webOS to version 1.2 and adds numerous new features like the ability to synchronize the information with a users LinkedIn profile and download files through the phone browser.
The update also adds seamless music download capability via the Amazon online store along with cut and paste emails and web pages. The update also adds a new range of features for enterprise users. Some of the features offer enforcement for security policies for accessing Microsoft Exchange accounts. Read more

Orange to Offer iPhone 3G and 3GS

Fans of the iPhone who haven’t wanted to jump over to O2 can rejoice. Orange has announced that it will begin selling the iPhone 3G and 3GS sometime later this year.
The provider declined to comment on a specific date range the device would hit its network. However, we can expect the handset to tip up in time for holiday shopping. Read more

Acer A1 Mobile Phone Up for Preorder

The Acer A1 smartphone is now available for preorder on retailer Expansys in Europe. The device will sell for € 389.99. Expansys will give discounts on the device is five or more handsets are ordered. An exact ship date for the smartphone is unknown.
The Acer A1 has a Qualcomm 8250 768MHz CPU, runs Android 2.0 donut, and has 256MB of RAM. Other features include a 3.5-inch touchscreen, GPs, Bluetooth, and a 5MP camera. Read more
