Wii Speak Channel Gets European Launch Date

Nintendo has given the Wii Speak channel a date of December 5th for European gamers. The service will be free, but does require the purchase of a Wii Speak accessory that sits atop the sensor bar.
The accessory is a microphone that allows your voice to be heard when you talk. Up to four people can chat at a time on Wii Speak and the individual Mii's will be shown on screen with mouths moving in time to the chat action. Read more

Deus Ex 3 Details Emerge

I remember the original Deus Ex video game for the PC, it was great fun and very original. New details of the third installment of the franchise have emerged. The game was at one point believed to be a prequel to the original.
Details now point to a more traditional shooter in the vein of Call of Duty with auto heal and a cover system. The story for the third installment is written by Sheldon Pacotti, who also wrote the original video game. Read more

Xbox 360 Gets Even Cheaper in Europe

If you thought that the new £129 price for the Xbox 360 Arcade was a steal, you will love this price. Sainsbury's is selling the Xbox 360 Arcade at a very low price of only £99.97.
If the Arcade isn’t the console you have your eyes on, the 60GB Xbox 360 is £139.97, and the Wii is £149.97. It's interesting to see two Xbox models selling for less than the Wii. Read more

Nintendo DSi Details Surface

It has been rumored that Nintendo was launching a new Nintendo DS portable in Japan for the holiday season. The portable will be called the Nintendo DSi and will launch on November 1th in Japan and by Spring in Europe.
Nintendo say that the DSi could be the first camera for a child and a tool for social communications and networking. The portable device has integrated dual 0.3MP cameras and larger screens that the original DS yet is still thinner. Read more

Sony Eyes PSP for MMO Games

Sony is said to be eyeing the PSP as the next console for MMO games. Sony has sold 34 million PSPs around the world and each of them has built-in connectivity. That means they could all connect online and be used for online gaming.
The publisher of the first significantly popular MMORPG EverQuest is considering integrating the PSP into its existing games. The Pet Game Free Realms allows users to connect online with their PSP and play with their virtual pet. Read more

Nintendo DS Hardware Update this Christmas

According to TechRadar, a new Nintendo DS is set to hit Japan this holiday season. The new hardware is said to have a built-in camera and the ability to playback music. TechRadar says it polled developers to see the reaction to the announcement.
Reactions ran from we have no knowledge of such a system to we want to know how the camera and music player can be used in games. I am betting Nintendo has added the music player function in an effort to get enough value add on the device to entice new buyers. Read more

Bungie Talks About Maddie Reference in Teaser

Bungie released a CGI teaser yesterday for an upcoming game project that features a sentence that read, "Maddie, where are you?" The sentence sparked rumors that it was a reference to missing child Madeleine McCann.
Bungie has come out and said that the sentence is not a reference to the missing child and that it is nothing more than an unfortunate coincidence. Read more

Xbox 360 Selling Like Hot Cakes

The Xbox 360 price cuts this month have definitely spurred buyers to jump on the Xbox 360. The official UK retail monitoring chart GFK-Chart Track shows that the rise in sales has been 32%.
This rise has to be exactly what Microsoft hoped for when it cut prices on the console. The sales surge has pushed the Xbox 360 ahead of the PS3, which has seen sales drop 8%. Read more

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Tops Charts

The latest game in the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has topped the charts for all formats this week. The game pummeled Mercenaries 2 to the number 6 spot.
Also tumbling in the rankings is Wii Fit to number 2, Mario Kart Wii to number 3 and Warhammer Online debuted at number 6. I'm frankly surprised the game did as well as it is, considering most of the reviews are lackluster. Read more

Nintendo Offers New DS Bundles for Christmas

Nintendo has announced new Nintendo DS bundle packs for Europe just in time for Christmas shopping. The bundles are intended to make it easy for shoppers to buy everything someone new to the Nintendo DS needs.
The bundles will include a Nintendo DS Lite console in white or black with Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old is your Brian at a price of £120. A red console and Big Brain Academy will sell for £120. Read more

Burnout Paradise Motorcycle Update Gets Date

I have mentioned before how much I like Burnout Paradise on the PS3. The game is tons of fun and the first official, and massive update finally gets a release date. The update will add new features like dynamic weather and day/night cycles and will add motorcycles and new events to the game.
The update will be free of charge and UK gamers can grab it from the PlayStation store this Thursday. The time of day in the game will affect traffic levels and more. Read more
